Longmeadow PD's K-9 Ruben on the job!
LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WWLP) – K-9 Reuben of the Longmeadow Police Department helped to locate a suspect who ran from a motor vehicle accident recently.
According to the Longmeadow Police Department, officers witnessed a vehicle driving fast on Longmeadow Street around 1:30 a.m. on Saturday. The driver hit another vehicle, lost control, and ran from the accident on foot.
K-9 Reuben was requested and tracked through the woods and found the suspect’s shoes in a stream. K-9 Reuben followed the track into the woods into a residential neighborhood where he found the suspect lying in a bush.
The suspect was arrested for an outstanding warrant and was charged with several motor vehicle offenses.
FYI: Holyoke Kennel Club was instrumental in getting Ruben to the Longmeadow PD.

The Holyoke Kennel Club is an all-breed dog club in western Hampden County, Massachusetts. We are a member club of the American Kennel Club. We are one of the oldest kennel clubs in Massachusetts.
Holyoke Kennel Club, Inc., is involved in two clusters of AKC dog shows held at the Eastern States Exposition, West Springfield, MA -- the Yankee Classic Cluster held in July and the Thanksgiving Classic Cluster held in November. Along with our all- breed shows, we hold obedience and rally trials.
MEMBERSHIP
Membership is open to all persons who are in good standing with the American Kennel Club and who subscribe to the purposes of the club. While membership is unrestricted as to residence, the club’s primary purpose is to be representative of the breeders and exhibitors in Western Hampden County, MA.
Annual dues are $15.00 per member and MUST accompany the application. Each applicant for membership must be introduced to the General Membership of the Club at a regularly scheduled meeting and is mandatory at a Club meeting prior to that applicant being voted on for membership. Conformation show and Rallies scheduled
NOTICE: The Thanksgiving Cluster premium list is now posted on Infodog. The Opening Date for all conformation, rally, and obedience entries is Thursday, October 14, 2024.
Holyoke Kennel Club will be holding a Conformation show and two Rally trials on November 21, 2024. The Conformation show will be held in the Better Living Center and the Rally trials will be held in the front section of the Mallory Building at the Eastern States Exposition. After the Rally trials are completed, practice ring time may be rented. Rally is limited to 50 in each trial.
There will be a morning trial, a lunch break, and a second trial. Our judges are Ms. Elizabeth Chase and Mrs. Denise D. Lacroix.
Rally classes offered are RALLY NOVICE A, RALLY NOVICE B, RALLY INTERMEDIATE, RALLY ADVANCED A, RALLY ADVANCED B, RALLY EXCELLENT A, RALLY EXCELLENT B, RALLY MASTER and RALLY CHOICE.
We expect the above trials to fill. Our show superintendent is MB-F. More information can be found at: infodog.com

Closing Date: Wednesday, November 6, 2024, Noon
Additionally, we will also be holding a Junior Showcase Rally Trial for exhibitors from 8 to 17 years of age on Saturday, November 23, 2024.
